Forecasts were showing it going blue today, which came through despite waking up to a steady rain.
The scale of mountains here is on a completely different level then at home. Bigger, farther, steeper.
Finding the right aspect is critical here for snow quality and visibility. We got humbled by our first attempt to get into a dark corner and once the light went a little flat with some high clouds, that line became much less ski-able.
It would be worth investigating the cost of a plane bump, it was an epic sled journey and it gets nasty when the sun goes down. If it was cost effective to do a day-ski like that, it would help with the necessity to have a sled here.
We skied from a couple miles on the west side of Thompson Pass, climbing up the Tsina glacier and skiing from one of the arm of the Tonsina glacier.
