Well, I guess our final day in Japan was a Japanese powder day. We had nice conditions, the snow was quite dense but not nearly as ruined as one would expect after the tremendous winds last night.
We earned most of our blue run turns today from the top of the chairlift, which a number of groups had their eyes on. We were able to beat them for the first run, which was the highlight of the trip, but they quickly took care of tracking up the rest of the terrain and we got sloppy seconds the rest of the day.
It was quite enjoyable to stay in a very Japanese lodge last night with traditional interior design and a wild dinner and breakfast buffet. They even gave us a bag of local potatoes on our way out.
