Today we spent an uncomfortable amount of time on exposed sunny slopes in no where to hide situations during a warm day watching avalanches and ice pour off of the cliffs and slopes up and down the valley. We eventually made it to the Breche Le Meije and with a quick down climb to the top of the glacier, we arrived at the top of Les Enfetchores.
This is the beauty of the alps, tour all day on the southern heated aspects, then pop over to the north side on the glacier, the temps are cool and the snow is dry. A few thousand vertical feet of powder skiing before the snow started to transform to spring again. Around here my legs hold up better to going up, over and around all day compared to the enormous descents that we find ourselves on nearly every run.
