So it rains for three days straight, is pouring at 12:30am, when I went to bed, wake up 7 hours later and it’s puking. It’s only 15cm, but when it’s wet and dense, it makes for some amazing skiing. More math that makes for amazing skiing: 10X the terrain, 1/10 the people 1/2 the price. Just a word to the wise, be careful sending it in low vis, the term “unmarked obstacles” takes on a whole new meaning here. It’s also interesting to be making snowpack calls on terrain that threatens the 100 people skiing down the catwalk below you. The old rule, If it’s open, it must be safe, doesn’t apply here.
Photos don’t work out so well when storm riding….
I was very fortunate to be invited over to a wonderful “social” dinner of raclette in a neighboring town. Out of this world homemade “raspberry tirimisu” for desert.
